PLEASE CONTINUE WORKING ON LONG Aa and SHORT Aa sounds. They should be able to tell you if they hear the long or short sound and where they hear it… beginning – middle – end.
Reading – Tracking with their finger is the most important thing at this time. Make sure they are touching the word as it is said. They will not begin learning how to read until they are good trackers. Don’t mistake memorization as reading . They must touch the word and say it…Read-Read-Read!
Sight words – by this time I’m sure they are hanging all through the house and car, . Please spend just 3 minutes a day on these words.
Have a BLESSED weekend ♥️
BLESS someone

😍
You guys did great on your homes days! The kids received many merits today for their work completed on home days. Thank you to the Moore family who brought everyone an Acorn today for last weeks phonic of Long A, We will be germinating and planting them soon🤗
Some things to keep in mind: when reading with your child, sign off on the page, they receive a merit for EACH signature. If they read it with mom, then dad and later a grandparent that’s 3 merits! They really like merits 😉
Grading on home days – you do not need a key, you are working with them therefore you will know the answers. Please score in blue, if they missed nothing on the page just circle the page number, that lets me know the page had been scored. All pages scored, circle the page number.
corrections – make sure that all work is corrected wether it be a home day or a school day. When looking over their papers after school each day if something needs to be fixed, please do so.
September Sight words – students have several copies, hang them in places they look often. Example: on bathroom mirror, in front of toilet, below tv, car… New sight words go out each month.
folders – should be signed every day, your signature lets me know you have sat down with your student and went over their work. This also gets them a merit each day😉 Please empty folders each day of any papers.
work load – will continue picking up over this week and next.
We are having so much FUN!
Another great day♥️💙
Tomorrow and Monday will be your first home days! I know you will all do just wonderful 🤗. I labeled there folder pockets with Friday and Monday work, that is their every day repeated papers. That does not include their work in their books. Their book work is listed on the September lesson plan calendar.
Handwriting work sheets – no tracing, write under each name, letter or number. Ask your student to tell you about letter jumping on the bed or not staying under the covers… Ask about capital letters standing at attention, BIG SOLDIERS, feet on the floor head to the ceiling.., I know this all sounds silly 😜BUT it works and they remember silly stuff
Book work – Social Studies, this is their reader. Read-read-read! You can never read it to many times. Make sure they are touching each word with their finger. After reading through a few times, stop periodically and have them say the word you are on. Read one line at a time together. Just keep reading…just keep reading 🐟
math – at this point everything is review, so they should sail right through.
Time – this is your day! Have fun! This should not take over an hour. We have been doing long Aa for our phonic, take a walk and look for Acorns…the sky is the limit! Get creative but most importantly spend time together and have FUN🙌🏼
Next week we will pick it up a bit and start rolling💪🏼
Have a GREAT weekend!
Be blessed, bless someone
😘
Another great day♥️💙
Be sure to check your students books, it seems there was some book swapping at the end of the day😂. They will soon get the hang of things and have their routine down. I am already impressed with the improvement from day 1 to day 2 in their reading! You guys that worked with your kiddos reading last night, it shows📚
Keep up the good work parents💕
Please make sure your little one gets plenty of sleep each night. We work very hard and do a lot of work, when they are sleepy it makes their day miserable 😩
morning snack – please send a nutritious snack to get their brains firing strong for the day💪🏼
Don’t for get to sign your student folder each day🖊
First day of school and they are already hard at work! They did great🤗. We had so much fun and I know that this year is going to be great!
Supplies- If your student does not have a 3 ring binder, please send one…a folder will not work. It needs to be a small binder no more than 1 inch, can be a flimsy or hard back.
Homework- Social Studies pages 5-6.
READ READ READ! Your student will have a story every night with questions that go with it. At this point they can not read, however the best teacher to read is, JUST read, CONSTANTLY😉 Each night read the Social Studies story with your student, that is our readers. For every signature they have on their reading, (each person they read with) they get a merit the next day!
